1 Family, 2 Weeks, 3 Peaks

Sunday 10 July 2011

Its been way too long!

It has been far too long since we last updated this blog. We are getting ever closer to starting our three peak challenge and the word challenge becomes more apt by the day. We are hoping to complete Ronas Hill in the next couple of weeks and that will be one under our belt. We have been walking with the backpack and we are getting used to it, but the problem is that Esme is growing by the day and becoming heavier! She generally falls asleep in the backpack which is great except she becomes a dead weight and it isn't easy to carry her for very long! Oh well, I suppose we should have thought about that before we began this!

We have already reached our target for the fundraising without adding in the sponsorship money so we are doing really well. It takes some of the pressure off in fundraising before we leave and allows us to concentrate on preparing ourselves for the walks.

The flights are booked but as usual we have tried to pack far too much into the time that we have south, arranging to meet up with family and friends and oh....walking up two mountains!!! What were we thinking???? Of course, really people want to see Esme, so maybe people won't mind if we go off and walk up the mountains whilst Esme entertains them. I'm not sure they would even miss us!

The last two weeks before the walks are going to be the most important, we can't do too much but we don't want to be underprepared. Our walking boots are walked in and I suppose we are ready to go! Wish us luck!
